Please feel free to send us completed works of original poetry, short stories, or non-fiction articles.

Calliope will also be hosting a novel race.

If you wish to be entered into the race please send us chapter one of your proposed novel, along with a basic story outline.

You may send as many pieces as you wish.

We have no specific content guidelines; for information about content please read the FAQs. .

Please keep all pieces to 1,500 words or less (word limit does not apply to Novel Race submissions).

Please give a title to each piece.

We will only accept written work in English.

To submit a piece:

Please individually send each piece by attachment  (in Microsoft Word 2003 format)to our email address: contact.calliope@yahoo.com.

Title your email "Calliope Writing Piece" in the subject line (to ensure it gets past SPAM filters).

We will not process any submissions without your real name, age*, your town and country of residence, and a title for the piece.   We also require a valid e-mail address plus one additional form of contact (telephone number or mailing address).  This will enable us to contact you in the event that there is an important issue regarding your submission and e-mail contact has been unsuccessful.

You're free to be published anonymously (please remember to state this request in the email) and if you desire a pseudonym then please provide a pen name for yourself.

Calliope will never pass on your details to a third party, nor will we publish your contact details.

When your submission has been received, we will send a confirmation email, and once a decision has been made regarding  your piece, another email will be sent to inform you of our decision.
